Meet Our Team
John Waller PT, DPT, CLT
John W. completed his Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science at Berry College in 2014 and went on to earn his Doctorate of Physical Therapy from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga in 2017.
After graduation, John W. started working as a therapist in an outpatient clinic, also serving as a Clinic Director. He has treated various orthopedic, neurological, vestibular, and post-operative cases. During this time, John was certified in ASTYM, dry needling, and received training with the Maitland and Great Lakes manual therapy programs. Later, he transitioned to working in home health helping patients regain their strength, mobility, and quality of life in the comfort of their homes.
John W. served the community working at a holistic wellness clinic alongside his wife, providing cash based PT services. During his time in home health and at this clinic, John W. developed a passion in working with patients one on one. He takes pride in tailoring programs to fit all patients, no matter where they are at in their life, recovery, or fitness journeys. In addition to his PT services, John led weekly circuit classes for all skill levels and became proficient in fire cupping.
John W’s introduction to lymphedema and edema care started when his wife, Abby, began offering MLD after becoming certified through the Academy of Lymphatic Studies. After seeing the incredible results and application of MLD across a variety of patients including those with lymphedema, CVI, autoimmune dysfunction, and post-operative edema, John was inspired to learn more. This led him to pursue training to become a Certified Lymphedema Therapist (CLT) through Klose Training.
Through his experience, John has come to view lymphatic care as a vital yet often overlooked component of healthcare. He believes that addressing lymphatic dysfunction is frequently the missing piece for patients struggling with chronic swelling, pain, and mobility limitations, and he considers lymphedema therapy one of the most valuable and impactful skill sets he brings to his practice. These beliefs served as the driving force to open TheraFlow alongside John Jordi and provide exceptional lymphatic care to the community.
Outside of being a PT, John enjoys spending his free time with his wife and two dogs, Hershey and Tiny. John W. was diagnosed as a diabetic at a young age. He is an avid weightlifter at his local gym Iron HQ and values this hobby as a cornerstone of his physical and mental well-being, helping him stay healthy, manage his condition, and lead by example for his patients. Living with a chronic disease has given John a unique perspective when working with patients with lymphedema and other chronic diseases. John’s other hobbies include spending time outside and gardening, exploring Chattanooga, and awaiting the next big Marvel superhero movie.
